ProfileSenior Counsel The candidate will advise and counsel management, labor relations and human resources professionals regarding personnel and wage and hour issues arising in various areas of the business, including Supply and Distribution, Information Technology and Retail. Conduct and direct internal investigations regarding employment-related matters, including harassment and discrimination complaints. Develop and deliver training to loss prevention, human resources and other groups on employment-related matters. Support the Company’s diversity objectives. Oversee outside counsel handling employment-related lawsuits, including class actions. Respond to attorney demand letters and negotiate early resolution of employment disputes. Represent the Company in matters before federal, state and local administrative agencies. Collaborate with Human Resources to develop policies and procedures to address new developments in federal, state or local laws or case law. Provide advice and counsel regarding immigration law issues. Travel will be required to support local and out-of-state clients. Law Degree from ABA-certified law school is required. State Bar Membership is required. 6+ years of employment law experience, including extensive experience in advising clients on complex employment law and wage and hour issues required. Experience in advising IT organizations preferred. Experience: representing clients before administrative agencies; in litigation of single plaintiff and class action employment matters required. Excellent oral and written communications skills, well-developed negotiation skills, creative problem solving skills and great attention to detail are required.
