IP Litigation Counsel The candidate will manage global civil litigation matters, including commercial disputes and class actions, with a focus on intellectual property litigation (patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret). Does not include employment-related litigation. Will formulate case strategy; prepare discovery; implement electronic discovery collection, holds, and compliance; and review pleadings. Draft, review and negotiate settlement agreements. Review and advise on intellectual property claims and potential disputes. Provide guidance on accomplishing business objectives while managing the legal risk of disputes. Research and advise on liability exposure related to disputes. Advise on, develop and conduct legal training in areas such as protection of intellectual property, privilege, document creation and retention, and other areas as requested. Make recommendations on counsel selection, manage outside counsel, coordinate litigation strategies, and control litigation-related costs. Notify insurers of claims, coordinate defense coverage and reimbursement with insurers. Manage and oversee company investigations and responses related to third-party subpoenas. Manage litigation expense budget. Identify and use the most efficient and effective legal resources to complete the work in a timely and cost effective manner. Supervise in-house litigation paralegal. Assist with acquisition due diligence regarding litigation matters. Manage the Company's records management program, including updating the records and information policy and retention schedule, ensuring compliance with e-discovery obligations, and providing training on records creation and disposition. Assist in other substantive legal areas and work with other attorneys and staff as needed. Must possess in-depth knowledge of US patent and intellectual property law. Good Standing and licensed to practice law in a state in the U.S. Is needed. JD degree from ABA Accredited Law School; excellent academic credentials is needed. Undergraduate B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering preferred; excellent academic credentials is advantageous. Should have 10+ years of experience in litigation. Experience in the semiconductor industry preferred.
