ProfilePatent Attorney – Electrical Engineering Duties: Fomestic and foreign patent preparation and prosecution, patent portfolio management, trademark prosecution, licensing and transactional work, infringement and invalidity investigations and opinions, and client in-take and counseling.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required. Admission to the Virginia Bar is required. Registration with the USPTO is required. Must have 3+ years experience in U.S. patent prosecution, with the particular requirement of having drafted 15+ patent applications over the last three years. Additional experience in foreign prosecution, electronic filing, trademark prosecution, due diligence, opinion work, licensing, and patent searching is highly desired. Ability to work across multiple scientific disciplines, including Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Life Science, Semiconductors, Business Methods, and/or Medical Devices, is preferred. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, and attention to detail are a must. Strong candidates will exhibit solid writing and analytical skills and have ability to quickly understand technical subject matter presented in any form, including visual, verbal, and written. A 1500+ billable hours is expected.
