Civil Unit Staff Attorney - Elder Rights Project Duties: Represent victims in its Northern Wisconsin Elder Rights Project (ERP). Serves elderly victims by solving the civil legal issues that arise as a result of abuse. Maintain a significant caseload of elderly victims of abuse in a wide variety of case areas (including but not limited to: Social Security, public benefits, domestic violence, family law, consumer, guardianship and general Elder Law issues); Participate in developing and implementing a statewide referral system for elder abuse cases; and Provide community education presentations and training on elder abuse issues. Share responsibility for the development and maintenance of good working relationships with community groups, as well as with state and local bar associations. May be called on to provide training and assistance to Judicare panel private attorneys and training for community agencies.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Must be admitted to practice law in Wisconsin and have good communication skills. Must have experience or a strong interest in poverty law and be willing to provide brief services and/or representation to eligible low-income Wisconsin residents.
