Director, Conflict Resolution Programming The candidate will oversee the Law School’s Dispute Resolution programming by working with students, faculty, alumni, practitioners, and community members to foster appreciation of the theory and skills of dispute resolution through classes, externships, clinics, competitions, workshops, conferences, and faculty scholarship. Develop and administer the budget for dispute resolution programming in consultation with the Dean, the Assistant Dean for Finance & Administration, and the ADR Faculty Director. Assist with administrative aspects of the dispute resolution curriculum including scheduling of classes and contracting with adjunct faculty for the purpose of staffing classes. Aid in hiring, supervising, and evaluating adjunct faculty who teach in the dispute resolution curriculum. Plan, organize, and coordinate a rich array of dispute resolution events. Provide executive support for the ADR Faculty Director. Develop specialized marketing for the Law School’s dispute resolution programming, including drafting and distributing printed materials and creating, maintaining, and updating Web materials. Design and implement a marketing strategy to achieve a national reputation for the Law School’s dispute resolution programming among academics and practitioners. Build and maintain connections with alumni interested in dispute resolution, in coordination with the Law School’s development, alumni, and career center staff. Seek grants for dispute resolution programming. Help build an endowment for the Law School’s dispute resolution programming. Supervise faculty lecturers and student assistants as needed.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: JD Degree or advanced degree in related field required. 7+ years of experience working in higher education, corporation, law firm or other related setting required. Experience working in legal education preferred. Experience in working with individuals at all levels of the organization, including senior leaders and staff. Experience in forging collaborative relationships with external partners, such as alumni, employers, and volunteers. strated experience with a wide range of communication strategies, including print, digital, and social media. Extensive knowledge of dispute resolution theory and practical skills. Demonstrated knowledge of program design, marketing and management. Knowledge of higher education administration, preferably in a law school. Strong organizational, administrative, and interpersonal skills that indicate the ability to work as part of a team or independently Strong writing and editing skills. Demonstrated success as a member of a cross-functional, collaborative team. Sensitivity to the needs of diverse and multicultural constituencies. Ability to work collaboratively. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Excellent judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality. Closing Date: March 27, 2017
