Junior Designer Duties: Provides school-wide design and production support for all communications and marketing functions, both internal and external, including marketing, recruiting, and prospect-management emails for SPS programs, print collateral and promotional items. Develops designs at the direction of the ADD as well as the Assistant Director, Marketing Production (ADMP). Assist in development and execute designs, layouts, and visual assets for print, web, email, and on-screen output, under the direction of the ADD and ADMP. Participate in meetings with stakeholders to gather project requirements and goals. Traffic proofs to the appropriate stakeholders for review and approval, and execute changes, consulting with the ADD and ADMP as needed. Use the Basecamp online project system and related processes to efficiently communicate and collaborate with team members and stakeholders, as appropriate. Collaborate with the Senior Writer and/or Content Specialist to ensure copy and design produce an effective overall final product. Collaborate with the Web Developer and Associate Director, Web & Technology to develop consistent and effective imagery, graphics, and user interface elements for the web. Prepare files for print production under the guidance of the ADD and ADMP. Provide design input to stakeholders developing presentations for internal and external use. Perform basic photo retouching and correction as needed.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or combination of experience and education required. 1 years of related experience. Knowledge of at least one industry-standard page layout program (such as Adobe InDesign) required, as well as a basic command of Adobe Illustrator and a strong command of Adobe Photoshop. Demonstrated typesetting and layout skills. Experience with print production. Experience prioritizing multiple, parallel, time-sensitive projects. Ability to work well under moderate supervision, as well as collaborate with a small team. Ability to work within pre-established design guidelines. Experience working directly with clients, soliciting and incorporating feedback.
