Employee Relations Manager Duties: Enable achievement of firm’s organizational and business objectives through - solving complex employee relations matters across all levels of the organization and developing/evolving firm’s employment practices, management capabilities and related systems. Developing and driving HR initiatives - process and employment practice improvement, training, metrics/trending and analytics. Partnering with and guiding business leaders through resolving complex ER matters. Providing direction to HR partners and managers around management practices, ER and Org Effectiveness. Directly handling a caseload of complex HR matters involving performance management, employment compliance, organizational effectiveness and org change/design issues. Identify, analyze and implement sound resolutions to employee relations issues in unusual situations where precedents for resolution are unavailable. Design and conduct HR investigations and organizational assessments - develop and implement appropriate remediations. Advise and influence management around employee relations decisions, e.g.: performance management, business conduct, terminations, restructuring, and HR policies, guidelines and practices. Manage and advise employees on reasonable accommodation requests. Evaluate and review employee related decisions in response to employee concerns. Design and conduct training for HR, ER and management on management practices. Design and use analytics modeling, trending analysis and ER metrics. Help evolve firm’s employment practices and processes. Assist in developing a strategic governance model for ensuring global Employee Relations support and compliance with local country laws and practices. Develop and manage HR initiatives.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: MBA/MA or J.D. Degree preferred. 6+ years of exempt level HR experience. 2+ years directly managing complex employee relations issues. 2+ years advising leadership around HR practices. Capability to apply discretion and sound judgment in managing complex processes, decisions and handling sensitive information. Exceptional coaching, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills. Experience managing complex employee relations issues, including HR workplace investigations. Strong influencing skills leveraging business acumen, expertise and data. Ability to identify and effectively manage a complex sets of stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to analyze data, understand trends and develop recommendations for action based on the analysis. Strong Working knowledge of employment laws and regulations (ADA, EEO, FMLA) and the ability to appropriately spot employment risk issues Knowledge of fundamental HR practices across ER, staffing, management practices, organizational effectiveness, compensation, and talent management.
