Division Counsel - Consumer Business Group Duties: Working within fast-paced, global business units to understand business needs and goals, identify legal issues and obstacles, and counsel clients regarding legal risks, solutions, and alternatives. Negotiating and drafting complex commercial agreements. Legal counseling on a wide range of commercial activities. Developing and providing client training on legal and compliance topics. Identifying opportunities to help businesses grow while maintaining compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Code of Conduct. Substantive areas of law may include antitrust compliance, product distribution, advertising, promotions, sales/marketing, social media, e-commerce, product safety and hazard communication, product liability, contract law, and regulatory compliance. Work within Legal Affairs on important department initiatives.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university. JD Degree from an accredited law school. 4+ years of combined law firm, government, and/or in-house corporate counsel experience. Experience in these substantive legal areas is desired. Preferred: In-house experience counseling business clients. Strong academic credentials. Uncompromising honesty and integrity. Business acumen and an ability to provide legal and compliance advice in the context of strategic business initiatives and goals. Experience and/or a willingness to develop a high level of competence in the areas of antitrust, product liability, contract law, consumer product regulatory law, and legal compliance. Highly effective written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to communicate and relate at all levels of the organization including business line leaders, department leaders, and director-level management. Results-orientated approach; personal and organizational accountability; and a collegial work style. Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively within a team environment. High energy and dedication to responsive client service.
