Director, Tax Independence The candidate will work with lead audit engagement partners and company audit clients on the resolution of questions regarding company's compliance with professional independence standards, including those established by the Securities and Exchange Commission, Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Will lead and participate in various Independence Group projects and initiatives with a specific area of focus on assessing permissibility of tax services under the relevant independence rules. Document current and future states suggesting improvements to existing or new independence quality controls and processes. Develop, modify, and provide field training on firm-wide independence policies, communications, and guidance.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Master's degree from an accredited college or university preferred. Licensed CPA or J.D. degree is preferred. Must have 8 years of experience in an accounting firm or other professional services firm with 3+ years of tax experience. Applied working knowledge of US GAAP, GAAS, and PCAOB audit standards is preferred.
