Deputy District Attorney Ii The candidate: Prepares and prosecutes the more difficult misdemeanor cases taken to trial (e.g., driving under the influence, domestic violence, child neglect). Prepares and prosecutes felony cases of average difficulty in a department of the Superior Court (e.g., possession of a controlled substance, burglary, forgery, auto theft). Prepares and conducts difficult preliminary hearings of felony cases. Conducts negotiations with defense attorneys regarding the disposition of a case. Confers with witnesses, law enforcement officers, defense attorneys, and other interested parties regarding cases. Prepares and presents felony and misdemeanor cases against minors in juvenile court. And advises investigators and law enforcement officers on the legal phases of work. Must have 1+ year of experience practicing criminal law.
