Senior Manager, Privacy Investigations and Operations The candidate provides support to Senior Director, Global Privacy Office and facilitates Global Privacy Office participation in the Privacy / Data Protection investigations process in support of the Business Units. Responsible for leading investigative process for privacy incidents within the Corporate function. Responsible for the creation and delivery of training related to incident management. Coordinates communication, engages resources including Business Unit Attorneys, Business Unit Compliance Teams, Information Security and Risk Management, Human Resources and others as appropriate, tracks progress of incidents and investigations, and facilitates resolution. Responsible for reviewing incident and investigations data in EthicsPoint to support legal analysis, tracking and reporting purposes. In conjunction with the Senior Director Global Privacy Office and Privacy Counsel, recommends process improvement suggestions to resolve incidents more efficiently, and may recommend actions to Business Units on the prevention of the same. Provides guidance to the Business Unit Compliance Teams concerning any required or recommended notifications, the content of such notifications and provides final approval regarding such notifications, where appropriate. Acts as a liaison for third party breach response support (credit monitoring/notification services. Will undertake other projects in support of the Global Privacy Office in the development of the enterprise Privacy Program, such as supporting the Senior Director with HIPAA Privacy Audit readiness projects and activities.
Qualification and Experience
An Undergraduate Degree required. Juris Doctorate, Paralegal Certificate or equivalent work experience preferred. Should have 5 years experience in Privacy with a focus on Investigations and privacy. Must have expert level knowledge of the Privacy Rule (HIPAA). Must have Understanding of dual role of data collected for legal decision making and metrics/reporting purposes and ability to articulate both types of ramifications for missing data elements to responsible parties based upon both legal and data knowledge. Ability: Ability to appropriately analyze and apply state and federal privacy laws and regulations. Ability to apply privacy investigation and data collection techniques gained from previous experience and extrapolates appropriately to ongoing investigations. Ability to confidently defend decisions made regarding investigation plan prioritization and related decisions based upon knowledge of privacy investigations. Ability to respond to urgent pressing matters with deadlines. Able to manage shifting and competing priorities. Must be able to facilitate meetings and conference calls with multiple parties and keep appropriate stake-holders properly informed. Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
