Court Program Specialist II (circuit Civil Case Manager ) The candidate assists in scheduling and monitoring compliance with requirements for handling civil cases under the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure and Civil Justice Initiative Grant procedures. Involves a significant amount of standing, walking, sitting, talking, listening, and reaching with hands and arms. Screens civil cases for compliance with civil and local rules and administrative orders to assure completeness and readiness for hearing. Provides assistance with case management of judicial caseloads, maintains a database for open cases needing attention, and enter documents in the automated case management system. Reviews court files where issues arise and prepares files for final hearing. Schedules hearings, prepares notices of hearings and maintains courts calendars; attends and monitors court hearings as needed. Monitors case processing reports to ensure case events comply with statutory/local practice timelines. Evaluates the status of case related matters, performs required actions to move the case forward and consult with the Judge to facilitate case progression. Provides case status information to the court either at hearings or through periodic reports. Performs clerical tasks such as preparing orders, documents and forms or creating and maintaining records systems for efficient case management. Prepares technical and statistical review of evaluation reports. Attends, participates and contributes to committee and management meetings. Performs related administrative functions and other duties as needed.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: The candidate should have graduation from a 4- year college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, criminal justice, psychology, sociology, pre-law or a closely related field, supplemented by 3+ years of responsible experience as a Paralegal. Paralegal Certificate is highly preferred; Master’s degree is substitute for one year of the required experience. Juris Doctorate degree may substitute for 2+ years of the experience. Should have Knowledge of legal terminology and legal format, Thorough knowledge of legal secretarial practices and procedures, t horough knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, and arithmetic, Thorough knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, equipment and systems. Should have knowledge of court case management principles.
