Assistant Attorney General-DLA The candidate entails the prosecution of capital criminal cases in state and federal courts involving direct appeals, post conviction and federal habeas corpus. Should have admission to the Florida Bar and three years of professional experience in the practice of law, legal research, teaching law or in administrative or judicial hearings. Membership in good standing in another state Bar can substitute for the required admission to the Florida Bar provided membership in the Florida Bar is attained within 12 months of appointment to a position in this class. Must have 3 years experience as an attorney in the trial and/or appellate courts handling complex criminal issues and/or capital cases. Criminal post conviction and federal criminal habeas experience desirable. Must demonstrate excellent written and oral advocacy skills. Preference is given to candidate with capital criminal experience. Focus will be given to significant experience regarding felony trial and post conviction litigation in the state trial court, state or federal court staff attorneys handling criminal cases and federal criminal litigation.
