Lateral Assistant District Attorney The candidate will be working under the Bureau Chief and will be responsible for reviewing charge files and recommending the initiation of litigation, conducting discovery for litigation in criminal and State Supreme court, preparing and presenting motions, responses and oral arguments to the courts, preparing pretrial and post-trial briefs and materials, conducting all facets of trials in criminal and State Supreme courts, providing formal and informal legal advice and memorandum to agency personnel. The candidates must be admitted to practice law in the State of New York having five to seven year of legal experience preferably in a area of the enforcement, related civil rights litigation, or general litigation in federal and/or state courts. Preferably have litigation experience including a record of jury trials and a working knowledge of criminal procedure and rules of evidence.
