Attorney I - Food Stamp Fraud Duties: Performs legal functions of the Criminal Prosecution Division. Will handle organization's fraud cases primarily focusing on food stamp trafficking cases. Will review and process referrals from the Department of Social Services working closely with an assigned investigator and legal assistant. Will serve as prosecutor in criminal trials and pleadings including some domestic violence cases as well as other limited prosecution cases. Will perform research and prepare a variety of documents to include legal memoranda, indictments, summons, arrest warrants, and forfeiture pleadings. May perform other related duties as requested by the Attorney General, Chief Deputy Attorney General, Deputy Attorney General or other supervisor. Some travel required. Will be sworn to organization's secrecy and be included in random drug testing program.

Qualification and Experience

Qualification Requirements: A J.D. degree. Must be a member and in good standing with the South Carolina Bar. 2+ years of criminal prosecution experience in a solicitors, public defender's office or 2+ years equivalent criminal experience preferred. Must have excellent criminal court experience. Excellent written and oral advocacy skills. Must be able to work as a team member with a positive attitude and be able to manage a small team. Some travel may be required.
