Part-time Municipal Court Attorney The candidate acts as court-appointed counsel for clients charged with traffic and municipal misdemeanor offenses. Represents appointed clients in all phases of criminal proceedings, from first appearance to sentencing, and is also responsible for the investigation and preparation of assigned cases. Should be licensed to practice law in the State of Louisiana and be in good standing. Must have a demonstrated interest in working with individuals charged with criminal offenses and will have the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to use and understand various computer software database, spreadsheet, and word processing and networking programs is required. Note: This position is a six-month opportunity with the possibility to reapply. Application Deadline: March 15, 2017.
