Junior Associate Attorney ( Criminal Defense ) Responsibilities: Attending pretrial hearings on behalf of clients and advise clients following each hearing about the best strategies. Advising clients about appropriate behavior while charges are pending, including social media use and confiding in friends and family. Research cases by interviewing witnesses, reading depositions, reviewing evidence and speaking with the client to determine the best strategy for defense. Assist clients with executing plea bargains and other agreements with the district attorney's office. Meet with clients in your office or at the county jail to discuss pending charges and to devise defense strategies. Provide legal guidance and support.
Qualification and Experience
Candidates must be licensed to practice in Texas and in good standing with the State Bar. Should have a strong dedication to their work, time management skills and demonstrate consistent punctuality. An ability to communicate respectfully and clearly to staff, colleagues and clients will also be expected, along with strong skills in legal research and writing.
