ProfileLegal- Assistant General Counsel- Corporate and Investment Bank- VP Duties: Working with CIB Business and Legal on the Firm’s Resolution Plan (“living will”), required under Section 165(d) of the Dodd-Frank Act; Coordinating support across a team of CIB lawyers and providing legal support to the Firm’s Global Market Infrastructures (“GMI”) team, which manages the Firm’s network of relationships with Financial Market Utilities and agent banks (cash and securities); Supporting CIB Legal’s participation in the Office of Legal Obligations (“OLO”), a Firmwide program that aims to design and develop a global, risk-based process to evidence the Firm’s understanding of applicable laws, rules and regulations (“Legal Obligations”) and the policies, procedures and controls needed to comply with those Legal Obligations; Supporting CIB Legal’s representative for the Firm’s New Business Initiatives Approval program.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Law Degree/JD Degree – required; 5+ years of experience in regulatory or transactional legal work, preferably in an investment bank or at a major law firm; licensed to practice law and a member in good standing in in the state/jurisdiction in which the position is based or otherwise in compliance with the in-house counsel registration rules of that state/jurisdiction; Ability to work independently, manage complex projects and multitask successfully in a fast-paced and complex business environment; Strong work ethic and attention to detail; Strong team player, with the ability to work in turn with a diverse range of lawyers (geography, practice, etc.), businesses and functions (Compliance, etc.); Excellent communication skills.
