ProfileSenior Project Manager Responsibilities: The candidate will provide strategic support across a portfolio of technology programs, spanning dozens of individual projects and hundreds of DHS customer requirements. The position includes direct support to Government leaders, particularly at the interfaces among science, technology, policy, law, and business. The employee would also develop formal reports, briefings, and read-ahead materials, as well as organize/coordinate meetings, discussions, and seminars. Occasional CONUS travel may be required.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements : The candidate should have a M.A./M.S. degree or a relevant professional degree (e.g., J.D.) Ten (10)years of relative work experience can substitute for a Bachelor degree equivalent, and fifteen(15) years for a Master's degree equivalent. 12+ years of experience providing strategic technology support and managing technical efforts. 8+ years of experience leading projects and associated team of professionals (i.e. engineers, scientists, technologists). Experience supporting DoD and/or DHS components (e.g. TSA, CBP, FPS, NPPD, USCG, ICE) either operationally or through project management. B.S. degree in physical science or engineering. Education or experience supporting DHS-relevant research and development. M.A./M.S., or equivalent advanced degree; particularly in physical science or engineering. PMP and/or DAWIA certification(s). Prior experience at DHS components is especially desirable. Recognized expertise in the employee's primary field. For example, recognition might include awards, certifications, publications, new intellectual property, funded work, professional licenses, etc. Exceptional written communication, for both technical and non-technical audiences. High computer literacy, to include creating final drafts of polished, formal documents and presentations. Developing and delivering briefings to senior leadership. Active SECRET clearance required. Eligibility to obtain DHS access and Suitability. This position requires knowledge in the broad areas of U.S. Land, air, maritime and Port of Entry (POE) security. Knowledge of the mission, operational context, programs and policies of the associated DHS Components is beneficial, specifically U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and United States Secret Service (USSS). Borders and Maritime Security Division (MDE) and Program Executive Office for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (PEO UAS) Program Managers conduct research, development, test and evaluation in priority mission areas.
