Commercial Underwriting Counsel NJ The candidate will be responsible for: Providing national commercial underwriting leadership, guidance and support to company personnel, agents, and customer(s), regarding the issuance of title insurance commitments and policies for commercial transactions. Issuing commercial underwriting standards, forms and guidelines in accordance with established company procedures. Establishing and maintaining beneficial working relationships with underwriters throughout the TRG organization and other national title insurance providers. Collaborating with commercial escrow teams to discuss and diplomatically resolve legal, transactional and title underwriting issues encountered on specific transactions. Researching and documenting state-by-state title insurance and search requirements. Managing and developing internal and external customer relationships, identifying prospective external customers, and attending marketing and industry functions to build and maintain a commercial customer base.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Juris Doctorate degree and an active state bar membership in good standing. Should have 5+ years title commercial underwriting experience required, multi-state experience preferred. Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organization, negotiation, leadership, and creative problem solving skills, as well as an ability to collaborate and act decisively. Strong understanding of title insurance and settlement services, commercial real estate transactions, and Federal and State regulations affecting the title and settlement service industries.
