Assistant General Counsel The candidate will report directly to Vice President and General Counsel of Advanced Materials business unit, a $2.5B global materials and chemicals enterprise; Responsible for leading and coordinating all aspects of Advanced Materials’ commercial contracting activities, including reviewing, approving, drafting and consulting on all sales contract activity affecting business enterprise; Supervise global team of contract managers that handle day-to-day commercial contracting across diverse range of industries ranging from chemicals to semiconductors to automotive to HVAC; Lead legal negotiator for key strategic, high-dollar commercial agreements with major customers, supporting commercial team, briefing executive team and directly negotiating with customer attorneys and executives; Advise business executives and managers on a broad range of legal, regulatory, and compliance matters in areas ranging from contract/commercial law to antitrust to intellectual property; Identify key risk legal risk areas and proactively develop and implement solutions, working with affected functional groups, e.g., Finance, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Risk Management, and Product Stewardship Monitor and track emerging legal issues around the globe in areas affecting business’ key operations; Work in partnership with Corporate legal resources in specialized areas such as IP, HR, Antitrust, Tax, and Environmental . Support Vice President and General Counsel on major legal matters across Advanced Materials such as litigation cases, regulatory matters, integrity and compliance/anti-corruption investigations, and environmental matters; Serve as point person for legal inquiries from sales force, global manufacturing plants, and functional leaders in areas such as supply chain, IT, and product stewardship. Lead and manage cross-business efforts to standardize legal policies, practices, and IT tools. Should have J.D. degree. Must have 5+ years of working experience with commercial negotiations and contract issues (law firm or multi-national corporation).
