Legal Counsel Duties: Provide legal support services to all parts of the business within a geographic region, by carrying out those services and/or by arranging for and supervising the provision of the services by external local counsel. Applies and enforces legal programs and procedures to minimize business risks and enable the efficient performance of the business’ operational functions, Advises and counsels internal clients on company procedures such as contract risk management, performs internal audits in the assigned region, monitors their efficiency and revises processes and procedures as necessary to improve program effectiveness; Provides legal advice and services to all parts of the business, Develops and updates document templates, including localized versions, Develops and updates legal reference materials, Participates as appropriate in the general operational decision-making processes of the region, Selects, instructs and co-ordinates with the external local legal counsel, Drafts all types of legal documents (sale and supply contracts, agency and distribution agreements, consultancy agreements, letters of intent, manufacturing agreements, corporate documents, authorization letters, etc), Reviews and advises on customer contracts; Develops legal training plans and materials for all levels of staff, Trains staff on a variety of legal topics, including contract review, contract risk management, dealing with US-embargoed countries, anti-corruption laws and policies, export control rules and procedures and matters contained in the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics; Follows and monitors legal developments in all countries where the company is active and takes action where required.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Qualified and registered lawyer with a state Bar association, preferably Oklahoma, with 5+ years varied experience at a reputable law firm and/or in-house experience within a multinational company, Proficient knowledge of commercial and corporate laws. Strong drafting skills, Fluent in English, Good organization skills and ability to manage different priorities, Strong interpersonal and communication skills at all levels within a multicultural environment, Flexibility and ability to inspire confidence in business partners, A commercial, solution-oriented mind coupled with a strong commitment to professional ethics.
