CSM&A Junior Attorney(Graduate Program) Duties: Acts as legal advisor to assigned internal clients or other company attorneys with respect to matters related to the area of specialty. Identifies legal risk and recommends solutions that help address the client’s objectives. Represents company in transactions, interactions, or disputes with customers, suppliers, partners, and competitors. Balances the business interests of client groups with ultimate fiduciary responsibility to company. Represents the company before industry policy setting organizations, government agencies, and other regulatory bodies. Areas of law practiced may include intellectual property law, mergers and acquisitions, corporate securities law, litigation, employment, structured financial deals, US government contracting, outsourcing, environmental, employee benefits, or bankruptcy. Contributes to legal advice impacting client decisions within a specific legal concentration. Assists in the development of risk profiles addressing routine specialty law. Seeks knowledge proactively from a variety of resources to work towards becoming a subject matter expert within a specific legal concentration. Analyzes routine legal issues and makes recommendations within a specialty area.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Advanced university degree in law (e.g. JD Degree or LLB). Meets local legal license requirements. 0-2 years commercial legal experience at a law firm, in-house, or in an academic or similar institution. Basic knowledge of law acquired through academic, law firm, in-house, or similar institutional exposure. Academic and developing practical knowledge within a specific legal concentration. Developing knowledge of company policies and procedures. Emerging experience advising on legal matters. Basic legal writing, verbal and listening skills. Good analytical reasoning skills. English language skills to business standard preferred.
