Profile

Project Leader Duties: Develops project definition in conjunction with the Global Account Manager. Manage RFQ process for Global Accounts Diversified Manufacturing team from end to end. Process includes receipt of RFQ, distribution of line items to appropriate WESCO entities for pricing, primary sourcing responsibility for non-traditional product (ie. Metal parts, rubber parts, labels, non-franchised manufacturers, etc.), consolidation of pricing and submittal to Global Account Manager and RFQ team for final submittal. Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. Defines the project constraints and deliverables. Develops or provides input to the project schedule, adjusts the project schedule, and manages the schedule performance. Collaborate with Program Managers to effectively meet requirements of Global Account Contracts at the local and corporate level. Works with Global Account Manager to assign resources to meet project objectives. Develop and manage a pipeline of cost savings opportunities in support of Global Account contractual requirements. Accountable for meeting annual cost savings targets. Negotiate contract elements, including terms and conditions, pricing and lead-time. Manage suppliers' performance, including support, development and monitoring of supplier performance metrics. Serve as customer contact and alliance manager for supply chain issues for all non-traditional spend. Act as team leader and facilitator for supplier negotiations, engineering standardization meetings, category strategy development, etc. Communicate and coordinate supplier strategies with Global Account Managers to include consolidation of manufacturers, where applicable, to leverage volumes and increase margins. Responsible for analysis of manufacturer drawings, specification and cut sheets. Requests additional clarification when needed, and sources in strict compliance with drawings, specifications and cut sheets, or recommends alternatives to be presented to customer engineering for approval. Prepares or reviews project documentation and assures it is complete, acceptable and in accordance with standards. Facilitates project status meetings with the project team on a regular basis and provides status to the Global Account Manager. Monitors and motivates project team members work performance and provides timely and periodic performance feedback input to the Global Account Manager regarding team members’ performance.

Qualification and Experience

Requirements: 2 - 4 years direct work experience in a project management capacity. Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation. Ability to oversee people and processes to achieve objectives. Ability to build strong business relationships with other functional areas to best support mutual objectives. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze workflow/processes in order to provide excellent service to internal and external customers. Interpersonal, conflict management, and negotiation skills are also required, as well as strong human relations skills to work with other employees in a matrix organization effectively. Ability to read, comprehend and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and cut sheets. Adept at conducting research into project-related issues. Ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong computer skills.
