Senior Corporate Counsel Duties: Working in the Legal Department, will work with a team that provides legal advice and support to a number of business units that acquire and manage customer-facing mobile products and the technology behind the scenes that enable services. Work will focus on engineering and information technology deals that support development and operation of our core networks. Supports a wide range of business units, including information technology (IT), engineering, device (handset) procurement, product development and product marketing. Drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial and mobile technology-focused agreements such as development agreements, hardware manufacture and supply agreements, services agreements (including outsourcing, software as a service, and infrastructure as a service), software/technology licenses, and contracts with wireless product and services vendors and other technology partners; handling operational matters; dispute resolution; general legal advice and creative problem solving. Some matters will involve highly technical areas such as interconnection, network backbone, and cell site backhaul.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: U.S. Law Degree and 25+ years of experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial transactions. A strong understanding of technology and digital commerce law, and intellectual property, as well as a demonstrated ability to recognize and weigh business and legal risks, think strategically and advance practical solutions. Customer-oriented interpersonal skills, excellent business judgment, and a proven ability to excel working with multiple clients in a fast-paced environment are also required. Must be detail-oriented and have the aptitude for, and a strong motivation to obtain, a deep and broad knowledge of wireless products and services. Experience working in-house combined with prior law firm experience is desired.
