Associate Real Estate Attorney The candidate will be supporting various functions, including sales, lease, closing/refinance and general support. In addition, negotiating/drafting/review, purchase & sale agreements, and title & survey review will be required. Reporting to and assisting General Counsel with all real estate matters. Duties and responsibilities: Highly organized, detail-oriented; Participate with team members involved in developing strategy in conjunction with various business units; Assist with development and implementation of policies and procedures related to real estate activities; Reviews documents on behalf of the company related to the acquisitions of retail/office/industrial/warehouse and coordinating due diligence review; Represents company in the negotiation of leases for retail, office, and industrial properties; Civil litigation, corporate minute maintenance, and credit agreements; Review all listing/brokerage agreements; Reviews all sales material for accuracy; Keeps the in-house list of all properties listed with brokers and active in the sales market; Once an LOI/Term sheet is signed, verifies if any additional terms are needed; Prepares a summary of terms, and LOI/term sheet and draft purchase and sale agreements, loan documents (purchase and refinance), deeds, deeds of trust, and other closing documents; Reviews tenant leases for legal and internal compliance; Reviews Exclusives/Restrictive Use clauses in leases and CC&R’s; Prepares and documents and manages Landlord/Tenant disputes; Prepares Landlord default notices; Point of Contact for legal Property Mgmt. related issues; POC for specialty leases/LOI/Lease Reviews; Closing/Refinance Support; Coordinating in-house checklist items; Construction/Contracts reviews; Assist in standardizing company forms; Assist in general legal questions/issues; Supports the Assistant General Counsel and/or the General Counsel as requested on all legal matters related to the Company’s core business.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have Law Degree. Should have 1 - 3 years of real estate law experience preferred. Active Texas State Bar license and member in good standing with Texas state Bar.
