Senior Manager - Legal and Business Affairs The candidate will review trademark and domain name watch lists, flag any potential issues and raise them to supervisor’s attention, as required. Take lead on trademark prosecution and defense for networks. Issue cease and desist letters. Manage third party IP monitoring services, liaise and coordinate communications from these services to the right business individuals. Work with SVP to address IP issues related to the licensing, promotions, business marketing and content development teams across the companies as well as cross functional partners within the legal team. Assist in overseeing the trademark clearance, registration and enforcement practices, including portfolio management and strategy. Assist in Company’s worldwide domain name registration and enforcement practice, including portfolio management and strategy. Assist in Company’s copyright and document recordation practice. Establish and implement strategies to protect the Company’s trademark assets. Work closely with the Consumer Products on use of Company’s marks in connection with licensed merchandise. Counsel executives on IP issues related to vendor agreements, licensing agreements, and other contracts as necessary. Support in film license and acquisition deals for the company. Strong academic credentials, a J.D. degree is preferred. 5+ years of legal experience in trademarks and copyrights including 3+ years experience in a top national or international corporation is required. Extensive transactional intellectual property legal experience required. A mix of corporate law firm and in-house experience preferred. Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines required. Strong: written and oral communication skills; analytical and computer skills required.
