Corporate Counsel, Intellectual Property The candidate will support the registry services business on a broad range of online enforcement matters. Will provide day-to-day advice, implement external and internal policies around enforcement of gTLD registry policies, domain name enforcement proceedings and settlements, notice-and-takedown, and assist with matters relating to phishing, spam, and other online abuse. Provide ongoing legal counseling in a wide range of areas relating to intellectual property, including contractual relationships, dispute resolution, trademarks, and regulatory compliance.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a J.D. degree and membership in good standing in at least one State Bar. Must have 5+ years of legal experience (with at least three years at a leading law firm or in house), with focused experience in online enforcement and/or the domain name system. In house experience at technology company is preferred. A well-rounded background in trademark, domain name, and copyright law is desired. Familiarity with ICANN, online enforcement, domain names, and the naming space is needed. Limited travel (domestic and international) may be required.
