Manager, Counsel The candidate advises senior in-house attorneys and business clients on legal matters and monitors compliance with applicable laws, regulations and policies. Researches legal principles and precedents, gathers relevant related information and drafts legal documents. Analyzes proposed and established legislation, and reviews company policies. Provides work guidance to paraprofessional and support staff in developing solutions to problems presented. Reviews, negotiates and drafts business agreements. Interprets laws, rulings, and regulations. Fields and answers questions from business units concerning transactional issues, compliance implications, and other legal topics. Coordinates and manages outside counsel. Works with senior in-house attorneys to identify and address key legal issues for management. Keeps informed of industry-specific regulations. Researches general legal issues. May lead and direct the work of others. Should have J.D. degree from an accredited law school with admission to State Bar of practice. Must have 2+ years of experience in general business legal issues. Experience with technology vendor contracts (e.g., software licensing and development, technology/software consulting, confidentiality agreements) strongly preferred. In-house experience is desired.
