Client/Business Development Executive The candidate will work closely with the Office Managing Partner in advancing the strategic plan for the office. Support the growth of client relationships and to work with partners 1:1, and in teams, to help them effectively grow relationships. Will also coordinate with global client teams across offices and be housed within the firm’s business development group. Routinely support and manage critical projects. Collaborate effectively and influence action without direct authority. Responsibilities include helping client teams from different disciplines develop and execute plans to grow specific client relationships (growth off the base). Will solicit client feedback and work across service disciplines within the firm to implement initiatives and improve client satisfaction to allow the firm to expand into new areas of service. Collaborating with individual partners and practice leaders to design, organize and implement business development strategies in support of the firm’s strategic plans including practice and sector plans. Will also assist on significant proposals and pitches for new work by providing strategic advice and direction in the preparation of compelling executive summaries. Will work with knowledge management to gather and analyze research, with the pricing and project management teams to develop compelling fee arrangements, and with attorney teams to prepare for in-person meetings and pitches. Will Identify opportunities to conduct need assessment conversations, post-pitch debriefs, post-matter reviews, and service interviews including working with partners to prepare for these calls or visits. Inspire a client-focused philosophy and collaborative approach to client service within the office, and build a working knowledge of the practice groups' services as well as a clear understanding of each group's strategy, priorities, their client service approach and their value proposition.

Qualification and Experience

Requirements: Bachelor's Degree. 10 years of business development experience. Executive-level presence, a high degree of poise, and the ability to interact effectively, build relationships with different constituents and influence action to achieve desired results. Preferred: Master of Business Administration Degree (MBA)/JD Degree. Experience working with companies in the legal industry or banking industry. Existing relationships with, and track record of consultative selling to, in-house counsel and C-suit. Should be able to influence strategy and execution, bringing independent ideas and approaches to key account growth.
