Counsel , Healthcare The candidate will provide legal counsel and support regarding complex federal and state health care and insurance laws and regulations. Work closely with regional, corporate and departmental leadership in achieving the company’s business objectives in compliance with applicable law. Provide legal counsel and advice to firm business units (Network Operations, Sales, Compliance, etc.) on a wide variety of issues and matters. Identify, raise and, when appropriate, resolve regulatory and compliance issues. Draft and negotiate healthcare provider-payer agreements. Assist in resolution of commercial disputes (through informal negotiation and litigation). Advise and support corporate development activities, including strategic initiatives with health systems, ancillary providers and physicians. Manage projects, drive tasks to conclusion and execute effectively alongside knowledgeable, experienced internal clients. Must have 5+ years’ experience in law firm or corporate legal department. Should have JD degree and Bar admission. Knowledge of CMS, Medicare Advantage and Medicaid regulations and other state and federal regulations applicable to firm’s business is required. Background in healthcare, insurance or managed care operations is needed. Familiarity with government health care programs (Medicare and Medicaid) and understanding of health care benefit coverage and medical policy is preferred. Track record of project management, strong partnership and collaboration, influential leadership, and process management is desired.
