Profile

Managing Counsel The candidate will lead the lawyers who support the Vendor Financial Services (VFS) business of the company’s Equipment Finance. Will serve as team leader to the lawyers providing support to VFS and certain other lines of business in the context of any vendor products being executed by the relevant line of business (LOB). Transactions within coverage include vendor and dealer program agreements, purchase agreements, leases, loans, and other ancillary products employed by the LOB, including marketing arrangements, syndications, and referral agreements. Specific responsibilities will include providing guidance to all team members to develop a consistent approach to problem solving and legal risk management, supporting high level LOB initiatives, product development and regulatory compliance projects, supporting other Equipment Finance support partners (i.e. compliance, credit, operations) and enterprise/wholesale groups related to matters associated with VFS transactions, some transactional support, assisting Law Department litigation or other legal partners with matters associated with VFS, managing a team of attorneys, including fulfilling all HR/people practices requirements with respect to the team, and managing VFS outside counsel relationships.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have Active State Bar membership. Must have 10+ years of experience as a practicing attorney. Business development experience including development and execution of business vision, strategies, and goals. Experience with vendor program relationships and equipment leasing and lending experience desired. Leadership and management experience for team of attorneys and staff with a section or legal specialty including developing virtual staff and managing a budget. Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships within and across business lines at all levels of the organization. Effective organizational, multi tasking, and prioritizing skills required. Ability to make complex decisions.
