Portfolio Oversight Director Duties: Reports to Portfolio Oversight Executive. Responsible for the operational success of the team and for setting strategic vision and goals. Maintains approval authority within the oversight tools (IPS, Reg 9, AAM) reviews and evaluates all exception requests generated for his/her team and decisions them within the scope of permitted authority; escalates requests to PO Executive when necessary. Ensures all work assigned to his/her team is complete in advance of deadlines and that all resources are effectively utilized. Joins the POM in partnering activities with FAs and TOs that may require additional leadership involvement and guidance. Works closely with direct reports and business partners to continually improve the delivery of Portfolio Oversight services. Acts as a resource for broader investment administration projects and implementations. Candidate may be a member of one or more of the FIC working committees.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or equivalent preferred as well as holding appropriate credentials such as CPA, CFP and or CFA designation. A graduate degree such as MBA or JD preferred. 7+ years of investment decision making and financial consulting experience working with high net worth clients and ultra-high net worth clients is required. Should ideally bring an appropriate mix of financial services expertise, personnel management and business development experience. Should have held positions of increasing responsibility with an established and prestigious financial services firm, most likely in a wealth management, private banking and/or trust field. Knowledge of fiduciary and financial products and services required through extensive related work experience. Broad-based technical knowledge of investments, tax, legal and operations necessary to service clients. Knowledge of fiduciary standards, principles and applicable laws and regulations usually acquired through training, seminars or law school. Skills and experience in negotiating, delegating, leadership, superior client service and relationship management skills required.
