Director of Strategy and Corporate Development Duties: Developing, driving and implementing corporate strategy, including overseeing the identification and pursuit of strategic business opportunities, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), partnerships, alliances, joint ventures, and licensing agreements. Responsible for developing and executing long-range strategic plans for the Company. Provide leadership in the planning and implementing of strategic business objectives. Define vision, strategies, and tactics. Analyze industry trends, including related verticals, competitors, and regulatory/compliance to develop analysis around investment areas. Develop business cases, including strategy, financial and business analysis, modeling, cost savings/synergies, valuations, and delivering detailed analyses and recommendations to the executive team and Board. Lead the M&A process, including souring of acquisition targets, develop an ongoing acquisition pipeline, managing communications and the diligence process, developing valuation analyses, and negotiating purchase agreements. Lead the cross-functional integration planning and teams. Engage project team(s) to set expectations, drive problem solving, develop recommendations and work plans, set execution milestones and create/deliver communications.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent work experience. MBA and/or a law degree preferred. 5+ years of experience in mergers and acquisitions, investment banking or corporate development. Working knowledge of accounting principles. Ability to provide service that exceeds expectations. Ability to willingly accept ownership for the leadership and effectiveness of the organization; looks for ways to make a difference. Demonstrated ability to transform a business for significantly improved results. Ability to empower and strengthen the team, delegate authority with the intent of enabling the team to work effectively without direct management. Strong influencing and negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively with all internal and external parties in evaluating and completing deals. Demonstrated ability in valuation and financial analysis. Proven project management skills with ability to lead multiple complex projects. Demonstrated ability leading executives in high level idea generation and vision setting within an intense problem solving environment. Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently.
