Corporate Counsel, Legal Department Candidate will be responsible for managing allocated legal matters relating to the group’s International Real Estate (CIRE) business and, as needed, group’s auction house business. Work closely, whenever required, with the Risk Management team as part of developing best practice and implementing a risk management programme throughout the Group as a whole. Work within a global team of lawyers and other professionals developing best practice and delivering a high quality ‘business partners’ commercial legal and risk management service to the Group as a whole. Develop and support best practives and contribute to the development of group wide legal services and risk management team that is leading edge in terms of the service it provides and the technological platform upon which the service is based. Develop strong relationships with external counsel in an appropriate and cost effective way, keeping such relationships under continual review. Develop a strong ethos of financial management, working strictly to agreed budgets and carefully managing external legal and other professional costs. Work closely with other members of group’s legal services and risk management teams to nuture all global practive management groups and to deliver globally a seamless legal ad risk management service to the Group. Play an inegral role in supporting a legal and risk management sevices strategic and operational plan for the Group in the Americas. Develop as a business lawyer, continually improving your business skills across all commercial disciplines and develop as a credible business partner, not just as a legal technocrat.
Qualification and Experience
Candidate should be qualified as an attorney in the US with 6+ years of experience. Strong intellectual property experience, especially brand licensing is required. Experience with residential real estate brokerage and development is needed. Experience in broad areas of business law in private practice or as an in-house legal advisor for an international organisation is required. A sound understanding of commercial and corporate law principles is required. Closing Date: 27 February, 2015.
