Corporate Counsel Duties: Work directly with firm’s executive leadership team and be expected to be a significant contributor to firm’s business goals and corporate culture. Work in a truly dynamic, global and performance driven environment. Product counseling and advice work, transactional work, regulatory and litigation matters and/or intellectual property counseling among other things. Collaborate with engineering and product teams to ensure IIX products comply with our terms of service, as well as applicable laws and regulations in relevant areas, including privacy, security, consumer protection, etc. Work with business development and other teams on business objectives, licensing matters, commercial transactions and strategic partnerships. Advise customer support team on customer support inquiries and matters implicating legal issues. Assist with other intellectual property matters including open source, brand/service/technology protection, patents and trademarks. Support other areas as necessary.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: J.D. degree and membership in at least one state bar (preferably CA). 5+ years of relevant experience, including prior in-house experience with internet or technology companies and/or at a top tier law firm. Experience with enterprise technology products and product counseling strongly preferred. Strong drafting and negotiation skills, along with excellent business judgment and strategic thinking abilities required. Experience in developing and implementing legal department processes to improve efficiencies preferred. Willingness and wherewithal to take on projects involving unfamiliar subject matters. Ability to move seamlessly and effortlessly between projects spanning multiple stakeholders and subject matters. M&A experience a plus. Must have the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, growing environment and work proactively with various teams across the organization, including engineering, product, business development, customer support, human resources and finance.
