Attorney Operations, U.S. Operations Duties: Provide legal support to Operating Division and Headquarters Departments. Draft contracts, advise business executives and field personnel on legal matters, aid in the resolution of issues, and facilitate business transactions. Responsibilities may include the negotiation and drafting related to the following matters: Client Contracts and Transaction Agreements, Equipment Leases, Finance Leases, Confidentiality Agreements, Consulting Agreements, Promissory Notes, UCC issues, Procurement Agreements, Default Letters, Demand Letters. Research and analyze legal issues as needed throughout the Operations Group. Provide guidance and support to the Program Specialists in the garnishment group in the handling of routine garnishments. Refer garnishment disputes to the litigation group. Responsible for handling a variety of moderately complex assigned legal projects and cases. Provides in-house legal advice and counsel to managers. Evaluates case liability and financial exposure for appropriate compliance. May supervise outside legal counsel.
Qualification and Experience
QUALIFICATIONS: J.D. Degree from an accredited U.S. law school. Member of State Bar. 3+ years of legal experience. General understanding of contract law preferred. Strong research, legal writing and analytical abilities Excellent drafting and negotiating skills; Ability to think strategically and provide leadership; Ability to work independently, take ownership of and effectively resolve problems; Ability to expeditiously identify and assess issues and provide legally sound recommendations consistent with good business practices and reason; Excellent written and oral communication skills; Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively and foster relationships with individuals at all levels; Solid organizational and time management skills; PC and other relevant technology competencies (e.g., Microsoft applications); Professional presence and approach; Balanced judgment and poise under pressure; Diligence, dependability and strong work ethic; Self-starter with a high degree of resourcefulness; Collaborative style and attitude; Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities quickly and comfortably; Comfortable with high volume, short turnaround requirements; Service orientation; Client focused (internal and external); and Flexibility for travel.
