Corporate Counsel The candidate will report to the Chief Legal Officer. Will provide sound legal advice and innovative solutions to a variety of stakeholders on a broad range of legal topics. Draft and negotiate commercial contracts, including customer, vendor, real estate and licensing agreements. Facilitate the resolution of employee issues in a variety of jurisdictions. Support compliance with a variety of regulatory matters. Provide timely, accurate, independent and commercially pragmatic legal advice in a wide range of areas. Develop and maintain close working relationships with internal clients as well as business managers across the company. Contribute to the Legal team's support to Imagine Communications in achieving its strategic and tactical objectives. Liaise with other members of the Legal team to promote and apply best legal practice. Identify risks and propose alternative structures to mitigate risks involved in operations, potential transactions, contracts, and litigation. Provide counsel and work collaboratively with other team members from other departments.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have J.D. degree and be licensed to practice law in the State of Texas (or an ability to obtain a license in Texas upon commencement of role). Must have 5+ years of experience in a top law firm and preferably 2+ years in an established in house legal department. Should have effective oral and written business and legal communication skills. Experience with legal issues involving intellectual property, contract law and employment law is needed. Superior analytical and writing skills are required. Software Licensing experience is preferred. International transactional experience is desired. Media, Broadcast and/or Cable industry experience is helpful. Multilingual is a plus.
