NY Underwriting and Business Development Specialist Candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with and providing underwriting support to Title Agents. Assisting with legal research, underwriting analysis and problem resolution. Auditing agent operations from an underwriting perspective. Generating new relationships with Title Agents and law firms not currently working with company. Providing support to Title Agents (via phone contact, personal visits, emails, and attendance at seminars and special events) in order to enhance agency relationships. Answer underwriting questions for NY and New Jersey Title Agents; secondarily will provide guidance or direction as necessary for other states in the Eastern Region. Assisting with auditing files of Title Agents in conjunction with audit team. Reviewing Title Agent metrics and assist with identification of potential areas of concern. Supporting Title Agent needs as it relates to closing software and systems. Assisting in creating supporting underwriting material such as bulletins, and newsletters. Developing and presenting industry related seminars. Will utilize prospecting tools and research industry data to identify key opportunities. Market services and benefits of Title Resources. Attend networking events. Work with Agency Operations to Onboard new agents.
Qualification and Experience
Candidate with a Bachelor’s/ JD Degree is preferred. 2-3 years of Business Development experience is required. Must be familiar with closing and settlement procedures in NY and NJ. Experience with Erie County, NY is preferred. Strong Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint and Excel, database skills are needed.
