Legal Counsel The candidate's essential functions: Serves as a lawyer/legal advisor on business transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures. Assumes responsibility for ensuring that the company conducts its business in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Corporate contract administration. Ensures the Company’s compliance with applicable federal, state, local and international laws and regulations. Assisting with reviewing and updating proposed terms and changes to company’s respective agreements. Providing legal advice/guidance when appropriate to all businesses and establishing rapport. Working on ad hoc agreements, legal documents, and projects as needed. Staying current on relevant laws, business developments, and changes in the industry. Excellent communication, administrative, managerial, technical, writing and negotiating skills.A high degree of integrity and business acumen. A mature thinking and acting executive with good common sense and judgment, and a broad business perspective when working through complicated legal issues. Good conceptual, strategic, and problem solving skills. The ability to be persuasive in reinforcing the best interests of the company, and work effectively through a complex organization to influence change. Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school and licensed to practice in the State of Missouri (or the ability to become licensed within the state promptly after hire). Should have 8+ years of experience in the practice of law, either in a significant corporate, in-house position, and/or a law firm. A proven track record of successfully developing and managing other attorneys in a complex business environment.
