Senior Counsel Responsibilities: Advising the fixed income investment team on workouts and restructurings of distressed securities and legal issues associated with investment opportunities and structured products to assess risk, security and suitability, reviewing and negotiating investor letters, consents, forbearance agreements, bank debt trading agreements, and related investment documents, and resolving various trading and settlement issues related to defaulted bank debt, emerging market debt and other unique security structures. Representing the company's funds and company in connection with borrowing matters, including the negotiation and maintenance of secured, leverage lines of credit, temporary liquidity facilities, and other borrowing arrangements for corporate or investment purposes; and preparing and reviewing materials for consideration by supervising boards of directors, trustees and managers related to the attorney's responsibilities. May also be assigned other matters handled by the Legal Department as the attorney’s work load permits.
Qualification and Experience
Qualification Requirements: The candidate should be an attorney with 6-10 years of experience, either law firm or in-house, with creditor-side work out and bankruptcy experience and borrower side experience negotiating and documenting various credit arrangements. Should have the ability to formulate solutions to mitigate legal risk while supporting business objectives, present to business clients with confidence and clarity, thrive in a team-oriented environment, and be able to take ownership of projects.
