Associate General Counsel The candidate will be providing support in such areas as copyright and other intellectual property rights as well as information and data security and privacy. Will be identifying and analyzing legal risks and proposing appropriate actions to ensure operational compliance with relevant laws, legal commitments, and policies, and advising on, preparing, and educating on corporate policies and on the application of such policies to specific engagements. Providing advice to and collaborating with other corporate services departments (HR, IT, Planning & Business Analysis, Marketing, Business Support Services, and Accounting) on a wide variety of commercial, employment, employee benefit, and corporate issues arising in day-to-day operations. Assisting to identify potential conflicts of interest and providing input regarding options for resolution of such potential conflicts. Maintaining qualification and insurance requirements in jurisdictions in which the firm does business. Providing advice and legal support related to corporate documents, such as bylaws, shareholder agreements, and with annual share transactions. Assisting with corporate real estate matters. Providing other legal support as requested from time to time by the General Counsel. Exceptional academic background, with a JD degree from a fully accredited law school and an active license, in good standing, to practice law in one state is needed. Should have 5+ years of relevant post-law school experience, with a combination of large law firm and in-house (preferably in a professional services firm) experience required, with litigation experience a plus. Knowledge of contract, commercial and general business laws and regulations is needed.
