In-House Counsel Duties: Provides legal services and advice to the Company in connection with business transactions, employment and personnel issues, regulatory compliance, IP law and other matters. Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements and other contracts, including IT services agreements, software license agreements, hardware purchase contracts, reseller and other partnership agreements. Work closely with business units to learn and understand the business and associated challenges, opportunities and risks. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with LRS business managers, members of the legal department, and others with whom you interact. Provide timely and high quality legal services and advice to LRS management on a variety of legal issues and maintain a proactive approach in helping to identify and minimize risks to the organization while supporting its strategy and goals. Provide legal advice and assistance as needed with respect to employment and HR matters. Review RFPs and other similar purchasing documentation. Will be expected to work both independently and as part of a team.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: Illinois licensed attorney. 5 years legal experience practicing law is preferred but will consider candidates with 3+ years legal experience that also have some of the preferred experience listed below. Experience working in support of a sales team or in the technology industry is preferred. Experience in reviewing RFPs, RFQs and/or with government procurement is preferred. Experience in employment law matters is preferred. Effective listening and communication skills (verbal and written). Strong interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to build relationships and positively influence outcomes. Independent task management with ability to efficiently manage a large volume of transactions. Highly motivated, proactive, self-disciplined, and hard working. Team oriented with ability to work collaboratively. Demonstrated negotiation skills. Skilled in analytical thinking and alternative decision making. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and dynamic environment while handling multiple competing tasks simultaneously to closure.
