Business Development leader Responsibilities : The candidate will set the partnership strategy including what verticals firm focus on and what economic and other deal factors can best drive broad selection in a profitable fashion. Identify, negotiate, execute, and manage partnerships with leading digital subscriptions companies and other strategic partners. Build pipeline reporting methodologies and manage a small team of business development managers. Develop a scalable approach to managing the partnerships post-deal and implement a rhythm with partners to jointly grow the business. Ensure the product team are actively reflecting partner needs in the roadmap. Be the advocate for the Voice of the Seller throughout the organization. Will interface with multiple other teams in delivering against the growth strategy including direct interaction with the product team on future roadmaps, with the marketing team on partners’ business plans and with the engineering and operations team on partner technical integration needs.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements : The candidate should have a Bachelors degree. MBA or JD preferred. 8+years of business development experience, including strong negotiations and partner development skills and experience executing complex deals. Experience with a subscription service. Proven experience with analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions. 3+ years experience leading business development or similar teams. Proven ability to work in fast-paced environment and resourceful in achieving success in the face of ambiguity while prioritizing and managing multiple responsibilities. Significant experience closing complex commercial agreements with digital/ecommerce companies. Excellent business judgment and the demonstrated ability to think and act both strategically and tactically. Strong verbal and written communications skills, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations. Demonstrated ability to close partnerships with US and non-US companies and to engage and influence C-level executives. Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, schedule tradeoffs and opportunistic new ideas with technical employees. Street smarts and willingness to roll up your sleeves.
