Attorney - Medical Device The candidate will provide broad based legal and professional support to company's Medical Device businesses. Practice areas include general corporate, product development, commercialization, and distribution (direct and through dealers and other resellers), general contract, advertising and promotional material review, licensing, and Medical Device related regulatory and compliance matters. Some travel may be required to the various Medical Device office locations along the East Coast. Responsibilities: Handling regulatory and compliance issues related to the Medical Device businesses, their products, and the conduct of business operations. Drafting/ reviewing and negotiating a wide variety of contracts (including, but not limited to, sales, services, supplier, group purchasing organization, product development, product distribution, consulting, collaboration, clinical study and evaluation, non-disclosure, and HIPAA related business associate agreements). Supporting the development and commercialization of new products, reviewing web-based, digital, and traditional promotional and marketing collateral. Advising the businesses with regard to relevant legal issues, including medical device regulations, data protection, identification of legal risk, and liability avoidance. Should have Juris Doctor (J.D.) and 5 years of related legal experience, including in-house corporate experience. Direct experience within the Medical Device industry strongly preferred. Should be well versed in the areas of Medical Device related regulatory and compliance, commercial transactions, contracts, and product distribution matters. Must be responsive and pro-active and be able to effectively multi-task and handle a variety of matters with competing priorities in a fast – paced environment. Must be able to work directly with and effectively communicate orally and in writing with business people and members of senior management of company. Must be a member of the Bar and demonstrate the ability to work across various groups both within legal division and company’s and other various businesses.
