Corporate Counsel Duties: Will join the corporate legal team. Will be responsible for providing legal advice and support relating to benefits matters pertaining to company's employees and company's benefit outsourcing solutions. Providing legal advice and support for benefits outsourcing solutions to include ERISA compliance, product development, vendor contract reviews, client service agreements, claims response and litigation management. Providing legal advice and support relating to the company's benefit plans to include ERISA compliance, vendor contract reviews, and advising on benefits appeals. Providing legal and compliance counseling on benefits related matters for professional employer organization. Regulatory work, including researching and interpreting federal and state laws, regulations, interpretive guidelines, advisory opinions and court cases relating to benefit outsourcing solutions. Providing legal advice and support in the resolution of client claims and manage litigation as necessary.
Qualification and Experience
Qualification Requirements: Law degree (JD). Must be admitted to practice law in the State of New York. Qualified candidate must have 7+ years' experience in private practice or corporate legal department, including 5+ years' experience focusing on benefits matters. Excellent communication skills and an ability to effectively interact with all levels of management. May require occasional travel.
