Associate Director Responsibilities: Develop staff and drive engagement. Executes strategies and lead activities related to the systematic identification, evaluation and management of global management liability risks including Directors and Officers Liability, Fiduciary, Crime and Cyber Liability Insurance. Identifies and negotiates appropriate coverage, premiums, deductibles and terms and conditions with insurance brokers and carriers. Evaluates,recommends and manages the Company's use of self-insurance and deductible funding to reduce costs of risk and to minimize risk transfer expense while providing global catastrophic protection for corporate assets, income and reputation. Risk Assessment and Contractural Risk Transfer. Performs risk assessments to evaluate the potential impact of risk exposures on the Company's risk profile. Determines minimal levels of insurance to require of business partners. Evaluates exposures related to real estate transactions, acquisitions, licensing agreements and other business activities for appropriate insurance specifications, indemnification wording and risk management/transfer. Enhances, maintains and promotes a risk aware culture within the Company. Oversees the investigation, documentation and negotiation of general and product liability, workers' compensation, automobile liability, first party property/business interruption losses and product recall claims. Serves as member of the Finance EOC Team. Serves as Internal Controls Sub-Process Owner for Risk Management.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements : The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, J.D. or related field or equivalent experience or related field. Master's degree and/or CPA. Insurance Industry designation preferred. 15+ years of experience within the insurance industry or related field or equivalent experience. Demonstrated success developing, implementing and leading risk management strategies, including identifying and assessing risks. Solid understanding of commercial insurance coverage. Solid knowledge of claim management principles applicable to first party property/business interruption matters. Significant experience budgeting and allocating insurance expense in a multi-divisional environment. Experience analyzing and negotiating large and complex business contracts and arrangements. Ability to lead and develop professional risk management staff. Solid knowledge of actuarial concepts and cost (premium) allocation methodologies. Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley 404 internal controls processes and concepts. Familiarity with the risk management aspects of mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. CPG industry experience. Strong leadership skills, including ability to influence and drive change. Solid judgment, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Solid understanding of Accounting and Risk and Insurance Management concepts. Strong analytical skills and technical proficiency with respect to executive risks, property and casualty lines of business. Ability to interact with functional area management with some interaction with executive levels in the organization. Ability to work on cross-functional activities and form solid business relationships across functions. Strong working knowledge of PC applications.
