Senior Director, Global Business Development / M&A Duties: Partner with Vice President & Head of Business Development / M&A, supporting the global development/execution of inorganic strategies developed in conjunction with Baxter senior business and business unit leaders. Leads entire process for business development initiatives (M&A, licensing, distribution, JV’s, etc.) including negotiations and presentations to senior management. The business development process includes identification, evaluation, negotiations, due diligence and implementation/execution. Leadership of initiatives includes cross functional coordination / being the face of Baxter to senior leaders of current/potential partners-targets. Provides input into corporate strategic planning/pipeline processes. Directs inorganic strategic planning activities for franchises ensuring corporate guidelines / schedules are met. Guides businesses/regions in their holistic assessments and development/review of their long-term strategies. Facilitates business development related competitive intelligence activities. Provides strategic link with franchise/region business development. Leads a highly talented team to drive successful integration of objectives. Coaches and develops Sr. Managers, Managers and Analysts.

Qualification and Experience

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and Master's degree required in business, marketing, finance or science/technology. JD Degree accepted as well. 10+ solid years of strong business development experience in the areas of M&A, licensing, divestitures, joint ventures in a corporate, investment banking, or consulting environment along with general Healthcare (Medical Device, Pharmaceutical or Biotech) business experience . Experience in developing business strategies and proven deal leadership skills with track record of successfully closed deals. Significant experience simplifying strategy for senior executives into specific actions with clear accountability, making decisions with speed and accuracy based on best available information, and communicating priorities clearly and concisely. Solid business acumen /knowledge of external healthcare business environment - understanding of competitive history/ability to forecast next moves. Strong leadership skills/ability to facilitate/manage in a matrix environment. Strong influencing skills/ability to work in a matrixed, consensus and team based organization. Adaptable/Flexible: Open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations. Solid quantitative/qualitative assessment skills, critical thinking skills, and ability to constructively challenge ideas and assumptions. Solid/demonstrated negotiation skills and process management skills. Strong communications/presentation skills.
