Profile

Director of Corporate Development/Senior Analyst Duties: Reporting directly to the Chief Development Officer/Chief Investment Officer, the Director of Corporate Development will provide senior level support for the company’s corporate development and portfolio investment strategies. Serve as a key member of the corporate management team with responsibility for implementation of specific assigned company strategies associated with corporate development and investment management. Act as project lead for specific merger and acquisition opportunities as assigned. Perform high level complex business and financial analyses including business valuation modeling, investment and portfolio analysis. Participate in and as assigned, manage due diligence processes associated with the acquisition of new businesses and complex portfolio investment opportunities. Utilize commercially available tools to monitor and evaluate competitive business landscape for emerging trends and specific opportunities. Develop and maintain a network of external resources and relationships in order to provide knowledge of and access to investment deal flow. Analyze new revenue generation and strategic partnerships. Participate in complex contract negotiation. Analysis of opportunities involving alternative investment strategies. Evaluate passive and active real estate investments. Lead internal project teams as assigned. Manage external contract resources including investment bankers, CPA’s, portfolio managers, investment advisors and attorneys as assigned. Represent the company in a professional and ethical manner at all times. Supervise subordinate employees as assigned. Will function as the company’s lead financial analyst. Will support the corporate development function in a professional, ethical, effective, and appropriately assertive manner. Will include participating as a member of multi-functional project teams, both as a member and as a project lead. Candidate must be willing to accept direction from CDO/CIO regarding specific projects and tasks when assigned, and work collaboratively as member of a team.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field is required, MBA or JD Degree preferred. 5+ years senior level financial analysis, corporate development, M&A and/or investment management experience (10 years preferred). Familiarity with and experience analyzing alternative investments including private equity, venture capital, real estate and other alternative strategies. Strategic business planning experience in a complex corporate environment. Ability to understand the Company’s business lines: products, players, technologies, and develop a network of contacts in related markets. Capable of working independently, but also as a team player or leader. Critical thinker with ability to analyze and problem solve at a conceptual, strategic and tactical level. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Successful experience performing complex due diligence. Developed interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Established sense of personal values and business ethics. Appreciation for and willingness to follow internal reporting protocols. Ability to positively present ideas and influence others. Established negotiation skills; ability to resolve conflicts and close deals. Ability to understand complex business strategies, identify potential opportunities, develop analytical work plans, perform senior level financial analysis and execute work plans associated with acquisition and divestiture of private businesses and complex portfolio investments.
