Manager-Hospitalist Service The candidate will direct, administer, and coordinate all operational functions for the hospitalist service, working in collaboration with their Executive Director. Responsibilities include practice management, development of financial strategies and business initiatives, outreach and other marketing activities, participation in physician contracting activities/negotiation, management of personnel, and physician relations. Oversee the daily operations of the hospitalist program by monitoring care provided to each the individual patient. Assure adequate staff/patient ratio filling in as needed for staff call-in. Prepare the physician and staffing schedule each month. Provide daily operations oversight for all facets of practice management, to include but not and security, physician relations, and patient satisfaction. Provide management oversight to direct reports to ensure adequate orientation, training and resources to successfully manage individual hospital and clinic sites. Facilitate and actively participate in recruitment activities and initiative to expand the hospitalist program. Implement practice management strategies and/or services to identify appropriate business and to maximize service delivery in close coordination with practice management teams as well as hospital operations. Maintain an objective, non-judgmental approach in interaction with patients/family members and all staff members at all times. Communicate with Physician pertinent information regarding administration of patient care on a daily basis. Coordinate patient needs from other providers along the continuum of care to treat the whole patient on a daily basis. Actively participates in the quality improvement program by performing scheduled audits of Audits infection control as scheduled and as needed according to observation of patient care. A Professional degree (J.D., Ph.D., etc), plus 1+ years of related experience and/or training, and 1 to 6 months related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
